PhytoTech Labs is a privately held business, which manufactures and distributes products to the plant tissue culture, plant biotechnology, and plant science markets. Dr. Kenneth C. Torres, Ph.D., and his wife, Janet, formed the company in 1997 and PhytoTech Labs was acquired by Calibre Scientific in 2018 allowing Ken and Janet to retire and keep the company in great hands. The goal of PhytoTech Labs remains unchanged: Dedication, expansion, and innovation making PhytoTech Labs become a world-class supplier of media, biochemicals and supplies to the plant production and research markets and communities.

PhytoTech Labs is located in Lenexa, Kansas, a suburb of the Kansas City Metro area. This location provides direct access to most major markets around the world. Our location near the University of Kansas, Kansas State University, the University of Missouri, and a number of smaller liberal arts and sciences colleges and universities allows us to draw upon the fine students and graduates of these institutions. Manufacturing, product development, administration and distribution of products are all done in-house at  our main facility and research and development facility.

PhytoTech Labs has distributors all across the world that help promote and distribute our product line world-wide (view the Distributors tab for a complete listing of all our distributors). We also sell direct to most countries. We have a distribution center in the European Union that allows fast shipments to EU countries at discounted rates.

PhytoTech Labs’ product line expands and adapts to new technologies, research, and needs of the market. We strive to constantly innovate with in-house research and development dedicated to bringing new products to the plant science markets. We also custom-manufacture a number of media for clients to aid in their production and research.
