Deficient Salts are basal salt media that are deficient or missing one or more of the key macro- or micro-nutrients that are essential for plant growth. Examples of popular formulations may be deficient by eliminating ammonium nitrate thus reducing the nitrogen level of the media or formulations that eliminate the presence of iron.
