Pectolyase Y-23 is derived from Aspergillus japonicas. It is a purified maceration enzyme that contains two types of pectinase: endo-polygalacturonase and endo-pectin lyase. These two pectinases carry maceration stimulating factors that will macerate plant tissue when stimulated. Additionally, Pectolyase Y-23 when used in combination with cellulase, can isolate biologically active protoplasts.
